Steve Cottrell is the pen name of a Kiwi actor, director and producer.  He has been in the entertainment industry for decades - theatre, film and television have been his life.

He has also worked on hundreds of scripts, as an assessor for the Film Commission, script and series editor for RNZ and TVNZ, and workshopping playscripts for theatre, but has never had time to write anything of his own. He stopped performing many years ago to concentrate on building his own production company and arts hub.

Steve also has a long association with Waiheke Island and now lives here permanently. He remains active in the arts scene on both sides of the ditch.

This is his first novel, but he finds the writing process so exciting and compelling that he has already completed a sequel to BLISS IT WAS - called THERE WILL BE BLOOD - to be released later this year, and will probably make it a trilogy. He intends to continue writing, and plans to explore genres other than crime fiction.
